Operating Sites in the Park

The parking area is open and provides an easy opportunity for mobile activations. However, there are not picnic tables.

The overlook area provides additional altitude and some density of trees that are usable for antenna supports. Getting up requires navigating poorly maintained trails, though.

Park Facilities (restrooms, headquarters, entry points, etc.)

Essentially none but the parking lot and trail signage.

The existing vault toilet building is locked and labeled "permanently closed". The surrounding grass fields are maintained, but there are neither picnic tables nor any other buildings here.

Antenna Restrictions

Cellular Phone Coverage

Verizon signals were weak, but usable in the parking lot. On the overlook, signal strength was decent and definitely usable.

Special Considerations

The park is open to hunting. There are state hunting training programs that take place on the portion of the park to the south of County Road C. These programs are announced on the park site as a "Property Notice".

The park trails are not well maintained. Deadfall of moderate to large dimension obstructs the officially mapped trails, particularly to the east of the Bridge toward the overlook. There is evidence that wooden staircase steps were previously installed to ease access to the overlook, but now only stumps of wood in concrete remain.
